New Delhi . There is very important news for bank customers. After two days i.e. from October 1 next month, the old Cheque books of Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC) and United Bank of India (UBI) will become invalid. Let us tell you that from October 1, 2021, the old Chequebooks of Oriental Bank, Allahabad Bank and United Bank of India will become useless. This is because the merger of Oriental and United Bank has been done in Punjab National Bank on 1st April 2020 and now it has become effective. Punjab National Bank (PNB) has given this information.



The old Cheque book will be closed from October 1,
PNB has said in a tweet that from October 1, the old Cheque book of e-OBC and e-UNI will not work. Customers have been told that those who have old Cheque books of OBC and UNI banks, they should get them replaced with new Cheque books soon, otherwise the old Cheque books will become useless from October 1. The new Chequebook will come with the updated IFSC code and MICR of PNB.

How to apply for new Cheque book
For new cheque, the customer has to visit the branch of the bank. Apart from this, customers of the bank can also apply for the Cheque online. You can apply for Chequebook through internet banking or mobile banking.

It identifies those bank branches which use electronic clearing system.
