The strike has been canceled after discussing other issues including Five Day Week at the central level. The strike was postponed in a meeting held in Mumbai on Saturday. This information has been given by All India General Secretary of the Bank Employees Union CH Venkatachalam. These days the functioning of banks will continue like normal days.

Outcome of the meeting

This strike of bank unions was to be held on 30 and 31 January. Demonstrations were also held in this regard in the past. DN Trivedi, Joint Secretary of All India Bank Officers Association, told that this decision has been taken after positive talk on Friday. After this it has been announced that banks will not remain closed on 30th and 31st.

AIBEA General Secretary CH Venkatachalam said that bank employees have 5 demands- banking, pension should be updated, many old issues, NPS should be abolished, salary should be revised and recruitment should be done in all cadres.
