The United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) has been demanding for a long time to implement a five-day week in banks. Now UFBU has said that if the demands related to work and pension are not accepted for five days, then the bank employees will go on strike on June 27.

The United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU), an organization of 9 bank unions, has said that if the government does not accept their demand, then the bank employees will stop working for one day. If the employees go on strike, then the banks will remain closed for 3 consecutive days, because 25 being the fourth Saturday of the month and 26 being Sunday, there will be a holiday in the banks.

This rule is applicable in most of the big companies of the private sector. UFBU has now said that if the government does not accept their demands for 5 days work and pension, then the employees of public sector banks will go on strike on June 27.
UFBU includes 9 bank unions
According to a report by Moneycontrol.com, United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) is a joint organization of 9 bank unions in the country. Apart from this, All India Bank Officers Confederation (AIBOC), All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA) and National Organization of Bank Workers have also spoken of joining the strike.
AIBEA general secretary CH Venkatachalam said after the UFBU meeting that their demands include amendments to the pension scheme for all pensioners, abolition of the National Pension Scheme and restoration of the old pension scheme for all bank employees. AIBOC General Secretary Soumya Dutta said that if the government does not accept the demands of the bank employees, then around 7 lakh bank employees across the country will go on strike on June 27.
There will be no work for 3 days
Bank organizations have chosen June 27 to make the strike effect more effective. June 27 is Monday. Banks will remain closed on June 25 being the fourth Saturday of the week, while on June 26, being a Sunday, banks will not function. In this way, banks can remain closed for three consecutive days due to the strike.
