Bank Strike: If you also have any important work in the bank tomorrow or in the coming four days, then complete it today because from March 26, the bank is going to be closed for four consecutive days. So complete your work early, it is not too late. Banking services are likely to be affected in the coming four days. The unions have called for a nationwide strike on March 28 and 29 under a joint platform.

Nationwide strike announced
The country’s largest bank, State Bank of India (SBI), said in a statement that the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) has said that All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA), Bank Employees Federation of India (BEFI) and All India Bank Officers Association (AIBOA) has issued notice for going on nationwide strike.

In this way the work can be affected for four days
In view of the strike announcement by the unions, State Bank of India said that banking services may be affected on 28 March 2022 and 29 March 2022. Before this, banks will also be closed on 26 and 27 March. March 26 is the fourth Saturday of the month and March 27 is Sunday. In such a situation, bank customers may face difficulties regarding banking services for four consecutive days.

Why is the strike happening?
It is known that the strike has been called in protest against the government’s move for privatization of public sector banks and the Banking Laws Amendment Bill 2021.

SBI made arrangements to ensure functioning
SBI in a regulatory filing said, “The bank has made necessary arrangements to ensure normal functioning of its branches and offices during the strike days, but there is a possibility that the work in our bank may be affected due to the strike.” The strike may not have any effect on private banks.
