Increased incidents of cyber crime

According to Dr. SK Saini, indulging in illegal activities through internet, theft, electronic money laundering etc. is cyber crime. To avoid this, the Information Technology Act, 2000 was brought by the government. Under cybercrime, it is not necessary for a person to be physically present at the scene. At the same time, Cyber ​​Terrorism also comes under the category of Cyber ​​Crime.

Banking fraud

According to SK Saini, works like robbing people, cheating are also being done through the internet nowadays. At the same time, banking frauds have also increased significantly. Action can also be taken under this Act to prevent such cases. If a person is found guilty of banking fraud, then action can be taken against him under sections 77B, 66D of the IT Act, 2000. Apart from this, sections 419, 420 and 465 of IPC can also be added. In case of banking fraud, it should be reported as soon as possible. If you complain early, quick action will be taken and the chances of getting the money back can increase.

SK Saini said that if a person is a victim of banking fraud or is a victim of any other kind of cybercrime, then the victim can register a complaint by visiting the Government of India portal https://cybercrime.gov.in/ . Apart from this, that person can also register a complaint of cybercrime by visiting the nearest police station.

Provision for fake profiles

It is often seen that a person creates a fake profile of another person on social media. SK Saini said that provisions have been made in the IT Act, 2000 regarding fake social media profiles. Action can be taken under sections 66B and 67 under the IT Act, 2000. On the other hand, if someone misuses the digital signature, then action can be taken under sections 66C, 71, 73 and 74 of the IT Act, 2000. Apart from this, sections 463 and 465 of IPC can also be added.

Cyber terrorism

SK Saini said that there are provisions in the IT Act, 2000 for pornography too. Action can be taken for pornography under section 67A of the IT Act, 2000. On the other hand, if someone is found involved in cyber terrorism, then action can be taken under section 43C of the IT Act, 2000. At the same time, there is a provision of life imprisonment in cyber terrorism.
