Ola Electric is inching closer to the top spot among Indian electric two wheeler manufacturers. In March, Ola Electric stood second with 9,123 units registered. However, Hero Electric still remains the top EV manufacturer in the two-wheeler segment with 13,022 units registered last month. Here is a look at the top five electric two-wheeler manufacturers in India in March.

Hero Electric

Hero Electric continues to be the top brand with over 10,000 EV sales for the first time in March. The electric two-wheeler maker registered 13,022 electric scooters across India in March. This is a big jump as compared to February, when the brand registered 7,356 units of electric two-wheelers. Hero Electric currently has a share of over 30 per cent in the electric two-wheeler segment in India. It has already sold around 30,000 units in the first three months of this year, promising to improve the sales figure to 46,260 units in 2021. At this rate, Hero Electric can double its sales this year.

Ola Electric

Ola Electric’s meteoric rise as one of India’s top electric two-wheeler manufacturer continues. Despite the recent incidents of electric scooters catching fire, in which an S1 Pro was also burnt, Ola Electric continues to score big in terms of sales. Being the only brand without any physical showroom or dealer, Ola registered 9,123 units in March, more than double the 3,904 units it delivered in the previous month. It is now approaching Hero Electric as well.

Okinawa Autotech

The rise of Ola Electric has pushed Okinawa Autotech, the erstwhile second-largest maker, to the third spot. The EV maker, which recently launched its latest high-speed electric scooter Ockhi-90, delivered 8,284 units to its customers. However, Okinawa expects to end this year on a high with the Ockhi-90 selling 50,000 units per year and the overall target of 2 lakh units in the current fiscal.

Ampere

Ampere Vehicles, which makes EV models like the Rio, Rio Elite, Magnus EX, Magnus Pro and Zeal, has moved up to number four in March. The EV two-wheeler maker delivered 6,338 units last month, up from 4,303 units sold in February this year.

Ather Energy

With only 2,591 units delivered in March, Ather Energy lags behind other electric two-wheeler makers in terms of sales. However, it is still a decent growth in terms of sales as compared to February, when the EV maker sold 2,229 units.
