Everyone’s mouth waters as soon as they hear the name of chocolate, but if you come to know that only one chocolate can trap you in the trap of deadly disease, then you might be surprised. We are not saying this just like that. Actually, the disease is spreading due to chocolate in 11 countries of the world.
On 27 March 2022, the United Kingdom notified the WHO of a cluster of cases with monophasic Salmonella typhimurium 34 infection. When investigation was done about this, the wires were found to be related to the chocolate produced in Belgium. This chocolate has been distributed in at least 113 countries.
A global alert was issued by Infosan on 10 April, in which there was talk of withdrawing the global product. So far, a total of 151 genetically related cases from 11 countries are suspected to be linked to the consumption of the included chocolate products. The risk of spread in the WHO European region and globally is assessed until information on complete return of products is available.
In the month of March this year, the United Kingdom informed the WHO about the rapid spread of bacterial infection. WHO has found in its investigation that these cases of food poisoning caused by this bacteria are spreading due to Belgian chocolate. Chocolate made in Belgium was supplied to 113 countries.
On April 10, it was decided to recall this chocolate from all countries. So far, 151 people have been reported ill due to this chocolate from 11 countries. 150 out of 151 cases have been registered in Europe. A case of this disease has also been reported in America.
The WHO has warned that in countries where these cases have been caught, these cases have been caught only by advanced molecular technology. According to WHO, there was enough supply of chocolate during Easter, so these cases can spread further, so there is a need to be careful.
According to the investigation of the Health Security Agency of the United Kingdom, these antibiotics are also proving to be ineffective on this disease spread by this bacteria. Infection with salmonella bacteria can cause fever, abdominal pain, vomiting and cholera in the patient. Its symptoms can appear in 6 to 72 hours after eating food. Salmonella bacterial infection occurs in poultry products and also in pets. This infection can also spread from one person to another through infection with feces.
