BH-Series Vehicle Registration: Now registration of vehicle will be done from BH series, Service started in 15 states know details

Union Road Transport and Highways Secretary Giridhar Armane said on Friday that to ensure the transfer of private vehicles across India, so far 15 states and union territories have started the new Bharat Series (BH-Series) for registration of vehicles.


 

New Delhi: A good news has been given by the central government to the vehicle owners across the country. Now you can move your vehicle from one state to another without any restriction on the same registration number. Union Road Transport and Highways Secretary Giridhar Armane said on Friday that to ensure the transfer of private vehicles across India, so far 15 states and union territories have started the new Bharat Series (BH Series) for registration of vehicles.

No need for vehicle re-registration

The government had notified a new vehicle registration regime in August. Under this, vehicle owners will not need to re-register their vehicle on transfer from one state or union territory to another state/union territory.

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways said in a statement, ‘Under the Bharat Series, this facility will be provided on a voluntary basis to those employees of Defense Personnel, Central Government / State Government, Central / State Public Sector Undertakings and private sector companies or organizations, Whose offices are in four or more States/Union Territories.


What is India Series?

The number plate of BH series or Bharat series will be of black and white colour. The background will be white and the numbers will be written on it in black color. The vehicle number will start with BH and then the last two digits of the registration year will be entered. To get the BH series, vehicle owners will have to pay road tax for 2 years or more.

This entire process will be online. The ministry has fixed road tax at 8 per cent on vehicles costing Rs 10 lakh, 10 per cent on vehicles costing Rs 10-20 lakh and 12 per cent on vehicles costing more than Rs 20 lakh.

Scraping center will be ready

Secretary Giridhar Armane said that under the new National Vehicle Policy, vehicle scrapping centers are being prepared in the states. “We have already received one application from Gujarat, we are expecting one more application from Assam,” he said.

The Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways had recently said that under the National Vehicle Scrap Policy, new vehicles that will be purchased after giving old vehicles for scrapping, will be subject to a reduction of up to 25 percent in state and union territory road tax. will give a discount.
