There is a big update for the retired senior citizens who have not yet submitted their life certificate. November 30 is the last day for the pensioners to submit ‘Jeevan Pramaan’.
Notably, a digital life certificate is a mandatory document. Which will have to be submitted by each pensioner to confirm that they are not dead and will continue to avail pension facilities. All pensioners who are alive will have to submit Digital Life Certificate under EPS-95 (Employees Pension Scheme-1995) every year to continue receiving their pension.
Pensioners should be aware that the new rule has come into effect from October 1 for those above 80 years and a window is available for two months. For those below 80 years of age, this rule will be applicable from November 1 and the window will remain open till November 30. As the deadline is approaching, pensioners should visit their local post office or bank to submit their life certificate. On the other hand, doorstep banking and online submission is also available. What is Digital Life Certificate?
It is a mandatory document of existence for pensioners, which serves as a proof that they are still alive. The digital life certificate should be presented to an authorized pension distributor or agency such as a bank or post office and this ensures that the pensioner’s workplace does not continue to pay after his death.
How to submit life certificate
Can submit digital life certificate through https://jeevanpramaan.gov.in/ or app. In this case, the pensioner can complete the process digitally at home by filling in the required details like name, mobile number, Aadhar number and other pension related details.
