The new rates of Airtel prepaid plans will start from November 26. Jio and Vodafone have not yet increased the prices of their plans. But it is believed that other companies will also increase the price of their prepaid plans soon.

Telecom operator Bharti Airtel on Monday announced an increase of 20-25 percent in the tariff rates of several prepaid plans. This includes plans like tariff voice plans, unlimited voice bundles and data top-up. Even in one plan there has been an increase of Rs 501. Airtel has informed that the new rates will be applicable from November 26.

The entry-level tariff for voice plans has been increased by around 25 per cent, while for unlimited voice bundles, most plans have been increased by about 20 per cent. Sunil Mittal-led telecom company Airtel has about 323 million mobile customers in India. Airtel has increased the tariff for data top-up plans by about 20-21 percent.

In the voice plan with the tariff, the new rate is Rs 99 as against the current Rs 79 – which is an increase of 25.3 percent. It comes with a validity of 28 days and offers benefits like 50 percent more talk time, 200 MB data, 1p/sec voice tariff for Rs 99.

Other plans where the hike has been announced are unlimited voice bundles and data top-up. This is the first time after a long gap that the company has increased the tariff on this scale. Earlier the Rs 49 plan was terminated in July this year.

In the unlimited voice bundle, Airtel’s plan which was earlier priced at Rs 149 will now cost Rs 179 with a validity of 28 days. It will have benefits like unlimited calling, 100 SMS/day, 2 GB data.
