VAT (Value Added Tax) on petrol has been reduced from 30% to 19.40 percent by the government. With this, the price of petrol in Delhi will come down from the current Rs 103.97 to about Rs 95.97. At present, the price of one liter of petrol in Delhi is Rs 103.97. While the price of petrol per liter in Noida is Rs 95.51 and in Gurugram it is Rs 95.90. Due to this, most of the customers were going to get UP and Haryana oil filled.

Modi government gave relief
It is worth noting that the Central Government, giving relief to the general public during the festival, reduced the excise duty on petrol and diesel by five and ten rupees respectively. This brought down oil prices. After this, many state governments had reduced the VAT on petrol and diesel in their respective states. In this, the Congress government of Punjab, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh is also included.
