The card of 16 hundred ineligible ration card holders of Mirzapur district will be canceled by the end of this month. The annual income of these card holders of eligible household scheme is much more than the annual income fixed by the government for rural and urban areas.
On the instructions of the government, District Supply Officer Umesh Kumar is getting the income of ration card holders under the eligible household scheme checked. The ration card of the ineligible card holders will be canceled as soon as the investigation report is received from the Revenue and Rural Development Department.
The government has fixed annual income for urban and rural areas to provide ration at a subsidized rate from ration shops. According to the mandate, for the ration card of the eligible household scheme, the annual income of a person in the rural area should not exceed two lakh rupees. If more than this then that person is ineligible for the ration card of eligible household scheme.
Similarly, only those people of urban areas will be considered eligible for the ration card of the eligible household scheme, whose annual income from all sources should be only three lakh rupees annually. In the investigation conducted by the supply department earlier on the instructions of the government, there are 16 hundred such card holders in urban and rural areas whose annual income is more than the annual income fixed by the government.
Now a joint inquiry is being conducted by the supply department to cancel the ration card of such persons. District Supply Officer Umesh Kumar said that as soon as the investigation report was received Ration card of all ineligible persons will be cancelled. This will help in making ration card of eligible persons.
Those selling paddy worth lakhs are also taking free grains from quota
Farmers selling paddy worth Rs 4 to 5 lakh at government paddy purchasing centers are also taking free food grains from ration shops. Card holders of 152 Antyodaya and eligible households of Patehra Kala village of Patehra block have been found in the investigation. In the last year 2020-21, these farmers have also taken payment by selling paddy of four to five lakh rupees by registering on the portal of the Food Department.
According to the mandate, it has been decided to cancel the Antyodaya card along with the eligible household scheme of persons earning more than two lakh annual income. In the joint investigation of Revenue and Rural Development Department, six such people have been found in Padaria Kala, In whose name paddy worth four to five lakh rupees has been sold at the purchasing center of the Food Department.
Supply Inspector Vinod Kumar Tiwari said that the ration card of these card holders will be canceled. Similarly, 77 Antyodaya and ineligible card holders of eligible households have been found in Rajgarh block. Now these ineligible card holders will not get free ration from ration shops.
