Private vehicles with zero or one digits at the end of the registration number of the vehicles will attract a fine of five thousand from Tuesday for not having a high security registration plate. Not only this, all kinds of works with fitness, re-registration and permit of such vehicles will also be banned.
After commercial, high security registration plates have become mandatory on private vehicles as well. From November 16, private vehicles with zero or one number at the end of the registration number will attract a fine of five thousand for not having a high security registration plate.
At the end of registration, challan action will be taken against private vehicles having zero or one number.
According to Assistant Divisional Transport Officer (Administration) Shyam Lal, private vehicles with zero or one digit at the end of the registration number will attract a fine of five thousand for not having a high security registration plate. Without the high security registration plate, challan will not only be processed, but with fitness, re-registration and permit, all kinds of work will also be banned. The government has set a time of one year for private vehicle owners to install high security registration plates.
Based on the number of vehicles, the high security number plate is to be installed by November 2022 sequentially. Now the process of installing plates on private vehicles with 2 or 3 digits at the end of the registration number will continue till February 15, 2022. There are 868452 private and about 57959 commercial vehicles in the district. In October, challan action has been taken against 57 commercial vehicles for not having high security registration plates.
The Assistant Divisional Transport Officer said that vehicle owners are constantly being made aware of the high security registration plate. The process has been made simple and convenient. Vehicle owners by booking online on SIAM app or website can also get high security number plates installed at home by paying extra charges. It is mandatory to have high security registration plates on vehicles registered before April 1, 2019.
Scheduled time for high security registration plate
On vehicles having 2 or 3 at the end of the number, till February 15, 2022
Till 15th May 2022 on vehicles which have 4 or 5 at the end of the number.
Till 15th August 2022 on vehicles which have 6 or 7 at the end of the number.
On vehicles which have 8 or 9 at the end of the number, till 15 November 2022.
