Big news regarding traffic challan. If you also drive a car, motorcycle, scooter or any other kind of vehicle, then be careful. Violating the traffic rules can cost you a lot.



 

In fact, over 7.67 crore challans have been issued for traffic violations across the country in the 23 months since the Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act, 2019 came into force. The Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Bill, 2019 was passed by the Parliament on August 5, 2019, to improve road safety and tighten traffic rules such as issuing driving licenses and imposing stricter penalties for violations. .

Traffic rules violators beware!

During the period of 23 months prior to the enactment of the new Motor Vehicle Act, the number of traffic challans was 19658897 and during the same period of 23 months of its enactment, the traffic challans were 7,67,81,726. Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari gave this information in a written reply in Lok Sabha. Nitin Gadkari said that while the number of road accidents has come down from 4,49,002 in the calendar year 2019 to 3,66,138 in 2020, the number of challans has increased after the implementation of the amended Act.
