Reserve Bank (RBI) has issued a notification in this regard. Reserve Bank said, all agency banks will be open to the public on March 31. The Government of India has requested to keep all branches of banks open for transactions related to government receipts and payments on March 31.

The Government of India has requested to keep all branches of banks related to government receipts and payments open for transactions on March 31, so that all government transactions related to receipts and payments can be accounted for in FY 2023.
RBI has said that due to the annual closing of the financial year on March 31, all banks will remain open. In the instructions sent to all the banks, it has been said that the transactions happening till the end of the financial year should be registered in the same year, hence all the banks have been asked to work. All banks will remain open on Saturday and Sunday also. Apart from this, NEFT and RTGS transactions will also continue till 12 midnight.
Actually, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has issued a notification on March 20, in which all banks have been asked to keep their branches open on March 31 i.e. Sunday. According to the notification issued by RBI, banks will keep all their branches open on Sunday, March 31, 2024. Along with this, all agency banks will also be open to the public, so that accounts of all government transactions related to receipts and payments can be maintained in the financial year 2023-24. It is clearly stated in this notification that even after the last day of March being Sunday, banks will remain open for the general public.
