There is great news for the employees of Uttar Pradesh. Soon the Yogi government of UP is preparing to give bonus on Diwali to about 15 lakh employees of the state.Â
It is expected that after Dussehra, an order may be issued in this regard and then it can be benefited in the salary of October. This will put a burden of about Rs 1000 crore on the exchequer. However, only after getting the final green signal from the government, the Finance Department will start the further process.
In fact, recently, the Yogi government had given the gift of freeze DA and honorarium to the employees of the state and announced that Diwali bonus was announced to the employees, in view of which the state workers are assuming that Dussehra is passing. Only the state government can issue an order to give bonus and then the finance department will get involved in its preparations and the bonus amount will reach the employees’ account before Diwali. If the bonus is given, the state government’s treasury will have a burden of about Rs 1000 crore. The maximum amount of bonus is estimated to be fixed at around Rs.7 thousand.
The benefit of this bonus will be given to all non-gazetted state employees, work-charged employees, employees of state funded educational institutions, local bodies and district panchayats and daily wage workers. Since November 4 is the festival of Diwali, it is believed that like last year, this year the government can give the bonus amount along with the salary for the month of October. In this regard, as soon as Dussehra (Dussehra 2021) passes, the Yogi government may issue an order to give bonus. After this, it will start getting its benefits in the salary of October.
It is worth noting that last year, with the announcement of bonus, the government had said that 75 percent of the bonus money would be given in the Provident Fund (PF) accounts of the employees and the remaining 25 percent money would be given to the employees in cash. On the instructions of CM Yogi Adityanath, it was decided to pay 30 days bonus to the employees for the financial year 2019-20 and it was said on behalf of the government that the employees who do not have PF account will get 75 percent of the National Savings Certificate.
