The Tata group took control of Air India on January 27 last year after successful bidding on October 8 last year. In a letter sent to the employees on Wednesday, the airline said that under the existing regulation of Air India, permanent employees if they are 55 years old and have worked for 20 years, they can take VRS.
Those applying for VRS will get extra incentive
The airline has said that the company is reducing the age limit for crew members from 55 years to 40 years as an added benefit. It said, ‘Employees applying for VRS from June 1, 2022 to July 31, 2022 will also be given additional incentive in the form of one-time benefit.
The company wants to rejuvenate the airline
Apart from this, employees who apply for VRS between June 1 and June 30, will get additional incentives apart from incentives. The Company has stated that acceptance of the application will be at the discretion of the Management. It is believed that this announcement of the airline is for the rejuvenation of the company. Let us inform that in November 2019, Air India had 9426 permanent employees. After the announcement of VRS, interviews for cabin crew are also going on in Kolkata, Mumbai, Bangalore and Hyderabad.
