This can be avoided again in the current situation caused by the second wave of Corona virus (Covid-19 Second Wave). The National Council of JCM-Staff Side has said that the Central Government may announce an increase in DA for government employees in June 201. It is expected that the DA of government employees will be increased by at least 4 percent of the basic salary. Center has already stopped the increase in DA till June 2021
National Council of JCM Secretary Staff Side Shiv Gopal Mishra said that we are in constant dialogue with the officials of the Department of Expenditure (DoE) and Department of Personnel (DoPT) of the Ministry of Finance. Officials believe that the government’s plan has suffered a setback due to the second wave of Corona. Almost every decision has been postponed for a month. For this reason, the increase in DA can also be announced only in June. Also said that it will not have much impact on the Central Government employees. In fact, the government had already stopped increasing the DA of employees and DR of pensioners by June 2021.

 On the question of how much increase in dearness allowance expected, Shiv Gopal Mishra said that given the average inflation rate, it can be at least 4 percent of the basic salary. Also told that dearness allowance will be given to the employees in three installments. On this issue, he told that the Joint Council and the concerned officials of the Central Government are in constant contact about this. This will be discussed soon. He said, ‘We have suggested to the Central Government that if it is difficult to give three installments of DA to the employees at one go, then it can be paid in parts.’
