It is worth mentioning that the Yogi government has earlier made it mandatory for its employees and officers to give details of the property.

The Department of Women and Child Welfare is sending notices to all such employees.

According to the information, the Director of Women and Child Welfare Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh has sent a letter to the districts of the state recently, in which information about the new rules of the government is given. According to the new rule, government employees-officers who married after April 31, 2004, will have to fill a declaration form in which they will have to give details whether they had taken dowry in the marriage or not. In Uttar Pradesh, about 10 thousand such employees are said to be officers who have been married after 2004. Notices are being sent to all the employees-officers on behalf of their department heads.



It is worth noting that the Yogi government has earlier made it mandatory for its employees and officers to give property details, now dowry declaration has been made mandatory. It has been said on behalf of the government that if any government servant officer does not fill the declaration form, then departmental action will be taken against him.

Let us inform here that the Uttar Pradesh Government has made the Uttar Pradesh Dowry Prohibition Rules, 1999, for effective control of dowry, it was amended on 31 March 2004. After the amendment, a provision has been made in Rule 5 of the Rules that every government servant officer after his marriage will have to give a self-signed declaration to the concerned department, in which he will have to tell whether he has taken dowry or not.
