Before Holi 2022, the employees of the Electricity Department of Jammu and Kashmir have got a big gift. Now the daily wage workers of the Electricity Department will be regular. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has approved the recruitment rule for regularization of these employees. More than 12 thousand employees will be benefited by this decision of the government.

The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has approved the recruitment rules set by both the Corporations of Energy Development Department to regularize the services of PDL and TDL personnel. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha approved the recruitment rule for regularization of Energy Development Department. These daily wage earners will be regularized against the vacant posts of class IV employees. This will benefit about 12 thousand daily wage earners working in the Jammu and Kashmir Electricity Department.

The special thing is that now there will be no permanent-temporary workers and casual seasonal labor in the department. In the same new rules, there is a provision for insurance coverage for departmental workers, to solve all the legitimate problems of the workers. The same recruitment rules are in line with the promise made under the process of converting the electricity department into corporations in the year 2020.

What are PDL-TDL employees

  • TDL is called those daily wage earners who are appointed in a particular project of the Electricity Department and with its termination their services also come to an end.
  • PDL is called those daily wage earners who have been appointed before the year 2015. Their services are not regular, but they are considered permanent.
