BSNL employees and officers were on strike on Wednesday for other demands including grant of license for 4G service and early benefit of third pay revision. The premises of Sanchar Sadan on Buddha Marg resonated with anti-government slogans throughout the day.
The employees and officers of BSNL remained on strike on Wednesday for giving license for Four-G service and giving the benefit of third pay revision soon, among other demands. The premises of Sanchar Sadan on Buddha Marg resonated with anti-government slogans throughout the day. Under the aegis of All Unions and Association of BSNL, it was agreed to intensify the movement further.
Divisional Secretary of BSNL Employees Union, Baikunth Prasad Singh raised the question that we have 3G while private companies have 4G service. So how do we compete? He said that when 3G service started in 2008, the government was the first to give permission to BSNL to start it. In the year 2016, when the 4G service was started in the country, the government’s intention changed, and private companies were first allowed to start this service. Now 5G service is also being started with the help of private companies. It is very clear that the government itself wants to ruin BSNL. That is why eight unions are simultaneously on a nationwide one-day hunger strike.
Main Demand
- Salary to be paid on the last date of the month
- BSNL gets approval to buy equipment from global vendors
- Pension to be amended
- Stop the plan to sell BSNL towers and optical fiber
Then BSNL will be ahead of private companies

If this money is available, then BSNL will be ahead of private mobile companies in every respect but dues are not being given.
