Have you not received domestic LPG subsidy in your bank account since last one year? If the answer is yes, then let us tell you that the government has stopped giving subsidy on domestic gas.
The main reason for this is that there is no difference in the prices of subsidized and non-subsidized LPG since May 2020, hence no amount of subsidy is being transferred to any customer.
In fact, on the Twitter handle @MoPNG e-Seva, the official social media based grievance redressal platform for the oil and gas sector, a user has asked, ‘It has been more than 1 year but we have not received LPG gas cylinder subsidy. Complained on online portal but no response received!’
@MoPNG_eSeva @IndianOilcl

To this query the forum got this reply, ‘Dear customer, since there is no difference in the prices of subsidized and non-subsidized LPG from May 2020 onwards, no amount of subsidy is transferred to any customer. ‘

Let us tell you that on March 1, 2014, the cost of a subsidized gas cylinder was Rs 410.50, while the cost of a non-subsidised cylinder was Rs 100.5. At the same time, the price of 14.2 kg non-subsidized cylinder LPG cylinder has increased to Rs 884.50 in Delhi.
According to the English newspaper The Hindu, the fiscal deficit in April-July is at a nine-year low. Talking about petroleum subsidy, the expenditure was only 9% of the budget amount. This subsidy is only for LPG. The price of LPG cylinder increased from Rs 581.50 on 1 May 20 to Rs 884.50 on 1 September, but the subsidy came down.
