Good News for Farmers: With the onset of the monsoon season, the government has given a big gift to the farmers. There has been a good increase in the MSP of Kharif crops.



With the onset of the monsoon season, the government has given a big gift to the farmers. There has been a good increase in the MSP of Kharif crops. The MSP of paddy has been increased by Rs 72 to Rs 1940 per quintal. The highest increase in the MSP of sesame was Rs 452 per quintal. The MSP of tur and urad has increased by Rs 300 to Rs 6,300 per quintal now. Now the sowing of Kharif crops is about to start in the country, before that the increase in MSP of Kharif crops is a positive step from the government side.

MSP of Kharif crops increased

Cabinet approval for MSP of Kharif crops has been given for the marketing year 2021-22. The MSP of paddy has increased by Rs 72 to Rs 1,940/quintal. At the same time, the MSP of sesame has increased the most by Rs 452 / quintal. The MSP of tur and urad has increased by Rs 300/quintal.

Emphasis on increasing the income of farmers



According to Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, in the last 7 years big decisions have been taken for the farmers. The emphasis of the government is on increasing the income of the farmers. MSP is declared from 2018 by adding 50% return on cost. In Kharif Marketing Season (KMS) 2020-21 (till 6th June 2021), more than 813.11 LMT of paddy was procured at MSP as compared to last year’s 736.36 LMT. More than 120 lakh farmers have benefited from this Kharif season.
