A senior ministry official said the subsidy could be given only to the beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. At the same time, in the internal survey of the government, it has been accepted that consumers can buy a cylinder of one thousand rupees.

After January 1 this year, the price of LPG cylinder in the capital Delhi has increased by Rs 190.50. Whereas in the last year the price has more than doubled. At present, consumers are getting the benefit of subsidy on LPG cylinders in select states of the country.
