The Central Government has rejected the proposal to increase the salary and allowances of the MLAs of Delhi. This has dealt a blow to the ruling Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi. For the last several years, there was a demand to increase the MLAs of Delhi. In this regard, the Delhi government, in a proposal sent to the Union Home Ministry, had recommended a salary and allowance of Rs 2.10 lakh per month to the MLAs, but it was not agreed upon. However, MLAs will get only 90 thousand rupees per month as salary and allowances. In this, 30 thousand rupees will be received as salary and other amount as allowances.
Delhi government will send proposal again
After the proposal was rejected by the central government, now on Tuesday, once again a proposal can be brought in the Delhi cabinet regarding the increase in the salary and allowances of the MLAs. It is being told that the Delhi government has made all the preparations and the proposal in this regard will once again be sent to the central government.
In fact, in the proposal sent by the Delhi government to the central government, it was said that the MLAs here are getting less salary and allowances than the MLAs of any state in the country. After the year 2011 i.e. for 10 years, there has been no increase in the salary of the MLAs of Delhi. In such a situation, these MLAs should also get the same salary and allowances as the MLAs of other states.
Salary very low in Delhi as compared to other states
The Delhi government has claimed that MLAs in other states of the country are getting one and a half to two and a half times more salary and allowances than the MLAs of Delhi. According to the MLAs of the Aam Aadmi Party of Delhi, the salary here is less as compared to other states of the country, while Delhi is an expensive city. In such a situation, we are also facing problem in doing public service.
