The External Benchmark Lending Rate (EBLR) for home loans has been increased to 7.05 percent by the country’s largest state-owned bank State Bank of India (SBI). Repo linked lending rate (RLLR) has also increased by 0.40 percent to 6.65 percent. According to the official website of SBI, the increased interest rates will be applicable from June 1.

According to the notification of the Ministry of Road, Transport and Highways, the insurance of cars and bikes will become expensive from June 1. The premium for third party motor vehicle insurance has been increased by the central government. After this decision of the government, you will have to pay premium according to the engine capacity of the car. For example, now the insurance premium for cars with 1000 cc engine capacity will be Rs 2,094. Insurance premium of two wheelers will also be increased from June 1.

The second phase of gold hallmarking is being implemented from June 1. With this change, hallmarking centers will start in the old 256 districts and 32 other districts. After this, hallmarking will become necessary in 288 districts, new and old and the jeweler will have to sell only hallmarked jewellery. According to the hallmarking standard, 14, 18, 20, 22, 23 and 24 carat jewelery will be sold in these districts from June 1. That is, now it will not be possible to sell gold without hallmarking.

Axis Bank has increased the limit of average monthly balance for rural and urban areas from Rs 15,000 to Rs 25,000. In the notification issued by the bank, changes are being made in the tariff structure of savings / salary account with effect from June 1, 2022. The penalty for not having access to auto debit has also been increased. If customers of Axis Bank are not able to maintain the minimum balance in the account, then more service charge will have to be paid.

Under the PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, the quota of free wheat available in many states of the country has been reduced. In UP, Bihar and Kerala from June 1, now instead of 3 kg of wheat and 2 kg of rice, only 5 kg of rice will be available. This decision has been taken due to less procurement of wheat. Some states will continue to get wheat as before and there will be no effect on ration distribution here.
