Assistance of Rs 1600 is available on LPG connection
Under this scheme, more than 5 crore LPG connections have been made available to BPL families. Under the scheme, BPL families get a financial assistance of Rs 1600 for one LPG connection. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the second phase of Ujjwala Yojana (Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana – PMUY) by handing over LPG connections in Mahoba, Uttar Pradesh through video conferencing at 12:30 pm on August 10, 2021. Under Ujjwala 2.0, the beneficiaries will get the first refill and hotplate for free. Also, the process of enrollment in this will require minimum paperwork. In Ujjwala 2.0, migrants will not need to submit ration card or residence certificate. For both ‘Family Declaration’ and ‘Residence Proof’, a declaration by itself is sufficient. Ujjwala 2.0 will help in realizing the Prime Minister’s vision of universal access to LPG.
