Debt-ridden telecom operator Vodafone Idea has claimed that it has set a speed record of 3.7 gigabytes / second (gbps). Which is the highest compared to any telecom company in India. This speed of the company’s 5G network has been seen during a trial in Pune.
At the same time, in June, Jio had set a speed record of 1Gbps during the trial, while Airtel had made this record in July.
Download speed up to 1.5 gigabytes/sec
The company has also claimed that it has set a record of 1.5 gbps in download speed. Which is seen on the mid band spectrum of Gandhinagar and Pune city. Vodafone Idea has been given high frequency bands of 26 GHz by the telecommunication department. Also, the traditional spectrum bands of 305 GHz have been found for 5G trials.
Vodafone has set up a lab for 5G trials in Pune City. Which is fully equipped with network of cloud core, new generation transport and radio access network.
Reliance Jio, Airtel, Vodafone and MTNL have got approval
In May this year, the Department of Telecom had approved the applications of Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea and MTNL. They have been approved for a 6-month trial with telcos’ device makers Ericsson, Nokia, Samsung and C-DOT.
