New Delhi. If you are fond of watching TV, then you should know that from December 01, the bills of TV channels are going to increase. The country’s leading broadcasting networks Zee, Star, Sony and Viacom18 have excluded some channels from their bouquet due to which TV viewers may have to spend up to 50% more. These prices are increasing due to the implementation of the new tariff order of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).
Let us inform that in March 2017, TRAI had issued a New Tariff Order (NTO) regarding the prices of TV channels. After that NTO 2.0 was released on January 1, 2020. Due to this, all the networks are changing the prices of their channels according to NTO 2.0. The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) was of the view that NTO 2.0 will give viewers the option and freedom to choose and pay for only the channels they want to watch.
Know what is the reason why
the monthly value of a channel offered in a bouquet of broadcasting network was kept between Rs 15-25. But in the new tariff order of TRAI, this minimum has been fixed at Rs 12. In such a situation, it can be very harmful for channels to offer most of their channels for just Rs 12. To reduce this loss, the networks have thought of a way to increase their prices by taking some popular channels out of the bouquet.
How much will it cost
To watch popular channels like Star Plus, Colors, Zee TV, Sony and some regional channels, viewers will have to pay 35 to 50 per cent more. Taking a cursory look at the new prices, if a viewer wants to continue watching Star and Disney India channels, instead of Rs 49 per month, it will cost Rs 69 for the same number of channels. .
For Sony, he will have to spend Rs 71 every month instead of 39. It will cost Rs 49 per month instead of Rs 39 for ZEE and Rs 39 per month instead of Rs 25 per month for Viacom18 channels.
