WHO has warned that the new variant found in South Africa is going to be infected very fast and there is a need to be very careful during travel.
The new variant of Covid-19 found in South Africa has created an atmosphere of fear around the world. The World Health Organization (WHO) has reported that the new variant is going to be infected ‘very fast’. WHO has named this variant as Omicorn.
WHO held a meeting to discuss new variants of coronavirus infection. In this meeting, the B.1.1.529 virus has been described as a Variant of Concern (VOC).
It is being said about Omicorn that it is more dangerous than the Delta variant. In such a situation, people are afraid that the risk of infection is going to increase once again around the world. Due to this fear, there was a sell-off in the worldwide market on Friday. Many countries including France, Israel have banned flights to and from South Africa.
Cases of the new variant Omicorn have also been found in two other countries apart from South Africa. These include Israel and Belgium. Earlier, Omicorn infection was also found in Botswana and Hong Kong. However, the Government of India has told that there is no case of this in the country yet. This variant is considered more dangerous because it is infecting people who have been fully vaccinated.
