Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Uttar Pradesh has given a big gift to the laborers working under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, 2005 (MGNREGA) during the festive season .
The state government has increased the honorarium of MNREGA contract employees, which will increase from Rs 1590 to Rs 3,220. They will start getting this benefit from this month itself (October).
On Monday (October 4, 2021) in the MNREGA conference in Lucknow, the capital of the state, CM Yogi said, “The number of village employment servants in the state is 35,246. At present, they are getting an honorarium of Rs 6,780, which has been decided to increase to Rs 10,000.
According to him, the increased honorarium of MGNREGA workers will be applicable from the month of October, 2021. With their hard work and effort, these employees have made a remarkable contribution in taking rural development to new heights.
Announcement to increase the honorarium of 41, 582 MNREGA employees, know – how much increase in whom?:
- 6780 to 10 thousand rupees of 35246 village employment servants
- 4122 technical assistants increased from 12656 to 15656 rupees
- 574 computer assistants increased from Rs 12656 to Rs 15156
- 31,640 to 34140 rupees for 567 additional program officers
- 441 Accounts Assistants increased from Rs 15830 to Rs 15156
- Two operation assistants increased from Rs 15830 to Rs 18320
- 13 helpline executive increased from Rs 15,820 to Rs 18320
- 7910 to nine thousand rupees of seven fourth class employees
- Increase of 564 Block Social Coordinators from Rs.11600 to Rs.14,100
- 46 District Social Audit Coordinator increased from Rs.17400 to Rs.19900
The CM said, “From April 2020 onwards, the payment of honorarium of the contractual employees of the state is being made in their accounts. Now arrangements have been made to give maternity leave of 180 days to women contractual employees in the state. Yogi also announced that the recommendation of the Deputy Commissioner MNREGA has been made necessary to remove any MNREGA employee from work.
Apart from this, the CM announced many more schemes in the interest of MNREGA workers. On this occasion, Yogi honored the workers who performed excellently in MNREGA. A film based on MGNREGA was also screened during the programme.
In such a situation, it is believed that there is a discussion in the political corridors that through this gift to MNREGA employees, the government wants to cultivate them keeping the elections in mind. Assembly elections are due in UP early next year.
