After TRAI’s order, Jio and Airtel have introduced new voice only recharge plans. Now users will not have to pay for data when they do not need it. This will benefit a large number of users.

Following the orders of telecom regulator TRAI, Jio and Airtel have launched voice only plans. Such plans are visible on the website of both the companies, which provide only calling and SMS benefits. This decision will provide great relief to 2G users and those who did not need data, but till now had to pay the price of data in recharge plans. There are still crores of people in the country who do not use data on mobile.

TRAI gave the order last month

On December 23, 2024, the telecom regulator had ordered all telecom companies to bring voice-only recharge plans. For this, the companies were given one month’s time. It was said in the order that along with their existing recharge plans, the companies will also have to bring such plans which have the benefits of only voice calling and SMS. Such plans are necessary for those who do not need data. Along with feature phone users, it will also benefit those who use 2 SIMs.

Jio brought these plans

Following TRAI’s orders, Jio has launched plans of Rs 458 and Rs 1,958. The validity of the Rs 458 plan is 84 days. In this, you will get free unlimited calling across the country and 1,000 free SMS. Mobile data is not provided in this. Access to Jio Cinema and Jio TV apps will be available with the plan. Similarly, the plan of Rs 1,958 will be valid for 365 days. In this, you will get free calling and a total of 3,600 SMS. Mobile data is also not being provided in this.

Airtel introduced these plans

Like Jio, Airtel has also introduced two voice only plans. The company is offering unlimited calling and 900 SMS for 84 days in the Rs 509 plan. Whereas in the Rs 1,999 plan, users will get unlimited calling and 300 SMS with a validity of one year.
