Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) pensioners of Employees’ Pension Scheme 95 (EPS 95) can now submit their Life Certificate at any time. The Life Certificate will be valid for one year from the date of submission. EPFO has given this information by tweeting on its official Twitter handle.
Usually the life certificate has to be submitted in November. In December 2019, EPFO made this change in the rules for submission of life certificates by pensioners. Pensioners are required to submit their life certificate to ensure that they continue to receive their pension.

The submission of Life Certificate or Jeevan Pramaan in the month of November every year by the Employees’ Pension Scheme, 1995 may be replaced by the system of submission of Jeevan Pramaan/Jeevan Pramaan after one year from the date of last Life Certificate submission .
According to this rule, if an EPS pensioner had submitted his life certificate on December 15, 2021 last year, then he will have to submit it on or before December 15, 2022 this year, failing which his pension will be stopped. . Pensioners are required to submit their Annual Life Certificate before the deadline every year to continue receiving the pension. If they do not deposit before the last date then they will not get pension from next month.

According to the tweet, EPS95 pensioners can submit their life certificate in the pension issuing bank, Common Service Center (CSC), IPPB / Indian Post Office, UMANG App and their nearest EPFO office.

To submit the Life Certificate, you will need Pension Payment Order (PPO) Number, Aadhar Number, Bank Account Details. Aadhar linked mobile number will also be required for this.
