Amidst rising pollution in Delhi-NCR, the central and state governments may decide to allow their employees to work from home. In Delhi, the AQI means the air quality remains in the severe category.
New Delhi: Government employees working in Delhi can soon get work from home. Actually, the AQI i.e. air quality in Delhi remains in the severe category. Due to which people are facing many problems related to breathing. In view of this, amidst increasing pollution in Delhi-NCR, the central and state governments may decide to allow their employees to work from home.
Government in action mode on pollution
In order to check pollution, the Delhi government had already banned construction works. But now government construction works have also been included in this. Construction work has been banned in various government projects like highways, flyovers, power transmission and pipelines in the Delhi-National Capital Region.
The government ordered the closure of the industries
The air quality body ordered the closure of all industries in the NCR that are not operating on clean fuel. Apart from this, the entry of petrol-powered trucks has also been banned in Delhi. The central body has banned the entry of trucks other than electric and CNG ones in Delhi. However, trucks carrying essential commodities have been exempted.
Government schools may be closed
Due to the rapidly increasing air pollution, there is a possibility of holiday in Delhi’s schools and colleges. The government can issue instructions to close government schools due to pollution. Along with this, a decision will be taken on the odd-even scheme for non-emergency business activities and vehicles. The Center’s Air Quality Commission has banned the plying of diesel-powered light vehicles in Delhi-NCR. However, vehicles with BS-6 and emergency services have been exempted.
