Life Certificate Submission Deadline: Even though the deadline for submission of life certificate for government pensioners is over, EPS 95 pensioners can submit it anytime throughout the year.
Pensioners are required to submit life certificate every year. Failure to do so puts the pension at risk of being stopped. The deadline for submission of life certificate for government pensioners has ended on November 30, but do you know that there is no deadline for some pensioners to do so. EPFO has recently clarified this.
EPFO clarified a few days ago
The EPFO had told a few days ago that the pensioners of EPS 95 can submit their life certificate at any time of the year without any deadline. This certificate will be valid for one year. That is, if a pensioner submits his life certificate today i.e. on December 2, 2021, then next time he will have to give life certificate before December 2, 2022.
Relief to such employees from this exemption of EPFO
Under EPS 95, private sector employees get the benefit of pension. EPFO had changed the rules for submitting life certificates for such employees in December 2019. Along with this, the EPFO did away with the obligation to submit the life certificate in the month of November every year and gave flexibility to the beneficiaries to submit it anytime during the whole year.
It is important to keep this condition in mind
However, there is only one condition with this that in whichever month you have submitted the life certificate for the first time, from next year you will have to submit the life certificate till that month. In the event of not getting this, pension will stop from next month.
Deadline has not ended even for the government employees of Jammu and Kashmir
Similarly, the deadline for submission of life certificate for a government employee of Jammu and Kashmir has not ended on November 30. The state government has exempted its employees from this deadline. Now these employees can submit life certificate by January 2022.Live TV
