Big relief to people! Last date extended for three services including PF e-nomination, know details immediately

There have been three reports of relief before the new year. Now the last date for filing e-nomination for PF account holders has been extended. Apart from this, the deadline for updating KYC and submission of GST returns has also increased. Earlier, the last date for these was fixed as 31 December 2021.

1. E-nomination in PF can be done even after December 31

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has extended the last date for e-nomination from December 31, giving relief to the PF account holders. EPFO has tweeted that now e-nominee can register even after the pre-determined deadline. It is being said that many people had complained about technical problems in the portal of EPFO.

After this the deadline has been extended. However, no information has been shared regarding the date till which this process will continue. Earlier, the EPFO ​​had warned that if the e-nomination is not done by December 31, then the employees will not get the benefit of insurance of Rs 7 lakh. EPFO has asked the account holders to complete the process of e-nomination at the earliest.

2. Deadline for updating KYC extended till March 31

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has extended the last date for regular KYC (Know Your Customer) updates for banks and other financial institutions till March 31, 2022. Along with this, the financial institutions have been asked not to take any action regarding updating KYC against the customers till the end of the current financial year 2021-22. The RBI said on Thursday that in view of the uncertainty surrounding the new form of Corona, Omicron, the deadline for updating KYC regularly has been extended.


Earlier, the RBI had increased it to 31 December 2021 during the second wave of Corona. In May, the RBI had issued a letter asking regulated institutions to take any action against customers for not complying with the KYC updating norms by December-end.

3. GST Returns Now To Be Submitted By February 28

The government has extended the deadline for filing annual return of Goods and Services Tax (GST) by two months for the financial year 2020-21 ending in March 2021. Now businessmen will be able to file returns till February 28, 2022. The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) gave this information by tweeting. It was informed that the due date for filing annual return in Form GSTR-9 and submission of self-attested reconciliation details in Form GSTR-9C for the financial year 2020-21 has been extended from December 31, 2021 to February 28, 2022. GSTR-9 is the annual return that taxpayers registered under GST have to file every year.
