There is an important update related to cheque book. A statement from Punjab National Bank said that the old cheque books of Oriental Bank of India and United Bank of India will become inoperative from next month.
In the notification issued by the bank, it has been said that from October 1, customers of Oriental Bank of Commerce and United Bank of India should change their old cheque book at the earliest, so that they do not face any kind of problem in future. Let us tell you, this is happening because Oriental Bank of Commerce and United Bank of India merged with Punjab National Bank in April 2020.
Keeping in mind the convenience of the customers, Punjab National Bank said that customers can change the old chequebook by visiting the nearest branch. You can also get a new cheque book issued through ATM, Internet Banking, PNB One or by calling the official phone number (1800-180-2222). Earlier the IFC code of these banks was also changed. PNB wrote on Twitter, “E-OBC and e-UNI will discontinue their old cheque books from 1st October 2021. The new chequebooks will come with updated IFSC code and MICR of PNB.”
