Mumbai. Born on 7 July 1973 in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, Kailash Kher’s birthday is today. Kailash Kher, who has sung more than 700 songs in more than 10 languages so far, inherited it as music. His father, Pandit Mehar Singh Kher, was a priest and used to sing traditional folk songs at frequent events. Kailash studied music from his father as a child. Although connected with music, he has never been fond of listening to Bollywood songs.

Mumbai’s initial phase was not good for Kailash. For a long time, he made rounds of the studio, but it did not work. Then one day Ram Sampat called him to sing an ad’s jingle. After which he got a chance to sing in Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra’s film Andaaz, and that song was ‘Rabba Ishq Na Howe …’ This song became very popular.
