Ashram Web Series: The Prakash Jha-directed web series on MX Player is still in controversy several months after its release. A police report has been lodged under the Scheduled Castes and Tribes Act in Jodhpur area of Rajasthan against the ashram in the latest case. The first episode of the series is alleged to have hurt the sentiments of the community.
According to the ANI report, the report has been filed on Thursday at Luni police station in Jodhpur district of Rajasthan. According to the station in-charge Sitaram Pawar, in the first episode of the series, a case was registered under the SC-ST Act when it complained that the SC-ST community was shown to be negative. Complainant DR Meghwa says the community has been insulted in the first episode. The series promotes discrimination. In December 2020, Jodhpur court sent notice to Bobby Deol and Prakash Jha in another case.
Let me tell you, the second season of the series Ashram Chapter 2 – The Dark Side was streamed on MX Player on 11 November. The series stars Bobby Deol as an alleged dharma guru. According to reports, this petition was filed on behalf of local resident Khushi Khandelwal, stating that Bobby Deol’s character as a Hindu saint hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus, in which saints are respected and Is worshiped. Being depicted as an evil, corrupt and drug dealer is an insult to the saints.
The campaign was run on social media against the series that it hurts religious sentiments of a class. Earlier last month, the Ashram was sent a legal notice by the Karni Sena state organization General Secretary Surjit Singh, accusing the makers of the series of attacking Indian traditions and customs of Hinduism. Some notices of the series were also noted in the notice. They were called against the tradition of ashram in Hindu culture.
