New Delhi: These days the big telecom companies of the country have given a big blow to the customers by making their prepaid plans expensive. Reliance Jio, which is counted among the largest telecom companies, has also made its plans expensive, which has increased the burden on the pockets of the users. On the other hand, the country’s government telecom company is going to give a big gift to the users next year. BSNL has announced to start all India 4G services by September 2022.

This service extension will cost Rs 900 crore. It was India’s communications minister Devusinh Chouhan who gave these figures to Parliament, as well as the possibility of the government selling its majority stake in BSNL to a private entity.

At the same time, BSNL’s audited financial statements show that as of September 30, the total assets of the entity are Rs 1,33,952 crore, and that of its subsidiary MTNL is Rs 3,556 crore.

The total assets of BSNL including plant, equipment and assets is Rs 89,878 crore and the same valuation for MTNL is Rs 3,252 crore. Further, the liabilities in terms of value on BSNL are Rs 85,721 crore, and for MTNL it is Rs 30,159 crore.

It was recently reported that BSNL has provided September 2022 deadline for pan-India 4G launch. The company invited 5 companies to test 4G services. Earlier, the government had proposed a revival plan for both BSNL and MTNL which included allocating them 4G services with central funds allocated for expansion of operations.
