Anushka Sharma and Anvita Dutt (Anvita dutt) as ‘Bulbbul’ have brought a story that adds to today’s truth in folklore.
Mumbai. You must have heard the story of that chudail at some time .. whose legs are inverted … she has long hair … she makes people a victim in dark paths. His blood is drunk … The production of Anushka Sharma Production and directed by Anvita Dutt has brought a similar story to Chudail with ‘Bulbbul Review’. This horror story released on Netflix is quite different from the rest of the films. This story has been introduced with old folk tales and today’s truth. In the film, the truth of Chudail is more scary … If we say that the real horror scenes of the film are not done by Chudail but by Rahul Bose, then it will not be wrong.
Talking about the plot, the story of ‘Bulbul’ begins with the marriage of a small girl, Bulbul (Trupti Dimitri) from a village in Bengal in 1881. On the way to this in-laws’ place, the child is told the story of his wife Devar Satya (Avinash Tiwari), a chudail, who forms the basis of the film. Bulbul’s husband is Indranil (Rahul Bose), whom Bulbul calls ‘Thakur Moshay’. The younger Bulbul is said to be the elder daughter-in-law in the house due to being the wife of ‘Thakul Moshay’. The younger daughter-in-law of the house is Binodini (Paoli Daam). The story of ‘Bulbul’ is composed between these characters.
There are many special things in the film – Anvita Dutt has written and directed this film, produced by Anushka Sharma. To praise each character beautifully in the film, praise for them is less. Anvita combines the story of ghosts and chudels with today’s frightening reality in such a way that you keep watching the film by sticking to the seat for about one and a half hours.

The film has another special thing and that is its cinematography … Siddharth Dewan’s camera has done wonders. The colors used in this film tell a different story. Whether it is red moon or purple light in the dense-scary forest. Black shadow of an inverted footed witch leaping from trees … Every color has been used very beautifully in the film. Amit Trivedi’s music playing in the background of the film kills life in every scene.
Photo Credit- paoli_dam / Instagram) ‘Bulbul’ is not a typical horror film .. The film uses folk tales associated with chudalas but does not have a scary witch but the male characters of the film. In this film, the character of women and the injustice done to the society will not only surprise you, but you will still be remembered after the film.
Talk about the performances, its lead actress i.e. Trupti Dimitri has shown every emotion of her character from the role of elder daughter-in-law so beautifully that it would not be wrong to call it the best performance of her career. At the same time, actor Rahul Bose in the character of ‘Thakur Moshay’ will surprise you. While not revealing much about the film, in the end we tell you a very important thing. Actor Rahul Bose brought the biggest surprise in this film.
Apart from this, the worthy performance of praise is that of actress Paoli Price. From the character of Chhoti Bahu to her tremendous transformation, she played every scene very beautifully. In the film, actor Avinash Tiwari in the role of Satya and actor Parambrata Chattopadhyay in the role of Doctor Sudeep have also given excellent performances. Parambrata has given memorable performance despite a small role.
Talk about the week point of the film, there are many scenes in this film, but there is no suspense in this film. This film will be seen promising you a great climax but will not be able to surprise the climax. You will understand what the character is going to take in this while watching the film for a while. However, many shocking scenes and its to the point direction do not let you go off the screen.
In such a situation, it is our opinion that you must watch this film because you will not regret it at all by investing your time in this horror film. 3.5 stars from our side to Bulbul.
