Bullet Train Start Date: The National High-Speed ​​Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) is building India’s first high-speed rail corridor. The project, which spans 508 km, is expected to cost more than $1.2 billion.

Bullet Train Start Date: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday said the $15 billion Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project, being built with Japanese cooperation, will become operational in 2028. According to a PTI report, Fadnavis said the state is planning to raise $50 billion from international financiers for infrastructure development and announcements will be made in four months. Fadnavis said the bullet train project suffered losses during the two-year rule till 2022, but work is now in full swing.

Building infrastructure is very important

According to the report, Fadnavis said that by 2028 we will be able to travel in bullet trains. He acknowledged that neighbouring Gujarat is ahead of Maharashtra in terms of project development. Fadnavis said infrastructure creation is very important to achieve the target of USD 1 trillion GSDP, and that during his first term as chief minister between 2014-19, USD 30 billion was invested in infrastructure creation, and now more money is being pumped into key projects. Speaking at an event on the India-Middle East Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) project, he said the Wadhawan port will become operational in the next 3-4 years.

Fadnavis said the Wadhawan port will also have an adjacent airport, which will be built through land reclamation on the sea, adding that many major cities in the world have such airports. It will also have a stop for the bullet train, Fadnavis said. The chief minister said Maharashtra is building a highway from Nashik to Wadhawan port, which will connect 17 districts of the state to the modern port.

Vivek Kumar Gupta, Managing Director (MD) of National High Speed ​​Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL), led a team of directors, contractors, consultants and senior officials and conducted a two-day comprehensive inspection of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project. He assessed the progress of the ongoing works, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols and quality standards. The team reviewed the development of bullet train stations at Vadodara, Anand, Ahmedabad and Sabarmati as well as track laying works.
