Canada Protest: Thousands of people are protesting against the government in Canada. Keeping in mind the security, Prime Minister Trudeau and his family have been taken to a safe place.

In Canada ‘s capital Ottawa , thousands of people protested on Saturday against the mandatory vaccination and Covid – 19 restrictions . During this, some protesters compared the Covid restrictions to fascism and displayed Nazi symbols with the Canadian flag. Many protesters sharply criticized Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau , targeting him. During this, people were carrying banners in their hands, on which vulgar and lewd abuses were written for the Prime Minister.

David Santos, from Montreal, said he thinks making vaccinations mandatory is not health related but a trick by the government to “control things”. Organizers of the protests called for the withdrawal of all COVID-19 restrictions and the decision to make vaccinations mandatory, and Prime Minister Trudeau’s resignation. Most of those protesting are truck drivers, for whom it has been made mandatory to get the vaccine. Keeping in mind the security, Prime Minister Trudeau and his family have been taken from their Ottawa home to a secret place.

No case against protesters

According to the CBC report, Trudeau was moved a day earlier due to security concerns. At the same time, the number of people who took to the streets to protest is said to be more than 50,000. Most of them are truck drivers. Ottawa police say that the demonstrations are taking place peacefully, so no case has been registered against anyone. After nearly a week of driving across Canada, truck drivers started arriving in the capital on Friday. The ‘Freedom Convoy’ started as a protest against the order for a Covid-19 vaccine for truck drivers traveling along the US-Canada border.

Food prices rise

As per the government order, from January 15, truck drivers are required to show proof of vaccination to cross the border. Truck drivers without vaccine will have to be isolated on their return from America and will also have to get tested for Covid-19. A similar rule for truck drivers was also applicable in the US from January 22. Due to these rules, the supply chain is getting disrupted in both the countries and the prices of food have increased significantly. Trudeau said on Monday amid protests that most Canadian truck drivers had been vaccinated. About 90 percent of the truck drivers of the country have got the vaccine.
