A large number of train cancellations are happening since the last few days. A day before, on Tuesday also 458 trains were completely canceled. Whereas on Monday also more than a thousand trains were canceled.
How to check train status
For the convenience of railway passengers, the railways puts the list of canceled trains on the railway website. Apart from this, its information is also available on NTES app. To know the status of any train, one has to visit the railway website https://enquiry.indianrail.gov.in/mntes. By entering the number of the train here, you will be able to know its status.
Automatic refund is available on train cancellation
If you have an e-ticket and the train in which you are going to travel is canceled due to some reason then you do not need to go anywhere to get the e-ticket cancelled. E-ticket money is automatically refunded in case of train cancellation. In such a situation, there is no need to file Ticket Deposit Receipt ie TDR.
If the train is late then you can get full money
If the train is more than 3 hours late and the passenger does not travel, then TDR has to be filed before the departure of the train. To file TDR, one has to login to IRCTC website or mobile app. Then go to My Account and select My Transaction option. Now click on File TDR.
How to cancel counter ticket
To cancel counter ticket online, visit this link (https://www.operations.irctc.co.in/ctcan/SystemTktCanLogin.jsf). After filling your PNR number, train number and captcha option here, tick the box with cancellation rules. After that click on submit button. Now OTP will come on the number you gave on the form at the time of booking. After entering the OTP, click on submit. After entering the OTP, the details of your PNR will appear on the page. After verifying the PNR details, click on the option of cancel ticket. After this the refund amount will be visible on the page. Along with this, a confirmation message will be received on the number written on the booking form, in which PNR and refund information will be given.
