There are many ways to enter the Navy after 12th. The first way is UPSC NDA exam. Under this, a written exam is taken first. After passing this, there is an SSB interview. After clearing both, you are sent to the National Defense Academy (NDA) or Naval Academy (NA), where your training takes place. After completing the training, you are given a commission in the Navy.

The second way to join the Navy is direct entry. For this, at least 50% marks in English are required in 10th or 12th. Also, 70% marks with PCM are required in 12th. This is also called Navy BTech Entry. Because in this, merit is made on the basis of All India Ranking in JEE Main. Then you are called for interview. There is no written exam in this. CDS Exam for entry into Navy after graduation

Another way of entry for permanent commission is CDS (Combined Defense Services) exam. This happens after graduation. For this also, one should have PCM and engineering degree in 12th. In this also, selection is done on the basis of written exam and then interview. If someone is an NCC C certificate holder and has a BE or BTech degree, then he can give interview to join Navy through CDS without written exam.

Entry into Navy through Short Service Commission

Apart from permanent commission, entry in Navy is also possible under Short Service Commission (SSC). This happens after graduation. Different branches of Navy issue vacancies for this. For example, for logistics, law or education branch, qualification is sought according to that branch.
