Case filed against Maneka Gandhi in the case of pregnant Hathini’s death

Mallapuram, Agencies. A case has been registered against BJP MP and former Union Minister Maneka Gandhi in Kerala for the death of a pregnant elephant. A case has been registered against him for the statement given in the case of Hathini’s death. A case under Section 153 of the IPC has been registered against Maneka Gandhi on a complaint by a person named Jalil, which is related to promoting enmity between different groups. Under the section against Maneka, a case is made for making provocative statements with the intention of inciting a riot. Some hackers also hacked the site of Maneka Gandhi’s NGO to protest against this issue.    

Six complaints were given against Maneka 

After Hathini’s death, BJP MP Maneka Gandhi had said that Mallapuram in Kerala is notorious for such incidents. It is the most violent state in the country. At the same time, more than 6 complaints were made against Maneka due to the statements made about Mallapuram, but a case was registered on the basis of one of them. Malappuram district police chief Abdul Karim U said that there were six complaints against Maneka. Investigation is going on in this case. 



Know what was Maneka’s statement

Regarding the death of a pregnant elephant, Maneka Gandhi said that this is murder. Mallapuram is notorious for such incidents. It is the most violent state in the country. Here people spew venom on the streets, causing 300 to 400 birds and dogs to die simultaneously. An elephant is killed every third day in Kerala. The Kerala government has not taken action yet in the Mallapuram case. It seems that they are scared.

600 elephants have died 

In response to a letter, Maneka Gandhi said that about 600 elephants in Kerala have died due to cruelty. Nothing can be done with the government and the wildlife department in Kerala. They do not take any action. The legs of elephants are broken in the temples there. They are beaten and starved. So far, 600 elephants have died due to this cruelty.



Ramesh Chennithala, Leader of the Opposition in the Kerala Assembly, asked Maneka to withdraw his statement. Ramesh Chennithala had said that the death of a pregnant Hathini is tragic. Strict action should be taken against the culprits in this case, but Maneka’s statement about Mallapuram district of Kerala is unacceptable. 

What is  the complete case of pregnant Hathini’s death  ?

A pregnant elephant in Kerala’s Mallapuram had reached the nearby village in search of food, but someone there filled firecrackers in a pineapple and fed the elephant. This severely injured Hathini’s mouth and jaw. Due to the pain, somehow, Hathni reached the Veliyar river, where she stood in water for three days to get relief from the pain. Later, despite all efforts of the forest department, the elephant and the child in her womb could not be saved. Later, the Chief Minister of Kerala assured strict action against the culprits. Police had suspected three people, one of them was arrested.
