CBSE 12th Students Supreme Court Verdict: The Supreme Court has given great relief to the students while giving its verdict on the matter of CBSE Board. The court has said that the marks of the improvement exam will not be considered as final, but out of both the actual exam and the improvement exam, whichever has better marks, it will be considered as final. The court has taken this big decision in the interest of the students by canceling the old policy of CBSE.
What was the scheme of CBSE
Earlier, under the scheme of the board, there was a situation of doubt in front of the candidates giving the improvement exam. As per the rules, only the score obtained in the improvement exam was considered final. In such a situation, in some cases it was seen that instead of improving the marks of the students, the marks got reduced. Taking a decision on this, the court put an end to this scheme and said that whichever exam has better marks, it should be considered as final.
A bench of Justice AM Khanwilkar and Justice CT Ravikumar has taken this decision. The bench said that the students are only demanding to retain the result of their original score and if the result is prepared on the lesser marks obtained by them in the improvement exam, then the admission taken by them will be affected.
CBSE, in its counter affidavit, told the bench that it has partially amended its policy to allow students who ‘fail’ in the improvement examination to retain their ‘pass’ results. The bench had asked the counsel for the board to decide on the issue of reconsideration of its improvement exam scheme.
