CBSE said in the circular that if candidates use pencil to fill the OMR sheet, it will be considered as “use of unfair means”.
In a bid to help class 10 and 12 students appearing for their board exams using Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) sheets for the first time, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE Term 1 2021-22) on Saturday announced a new method of evaluation. shared information about. And also released a set of do’s and don’ts for the students.
Keeping in mind the unprecedented scenario arising out of the COVID-19 pandemic, CBSE had earlier this year announced that it will conduct the board exams in two parts this year. The format of CBSE Term-1 2021-22 examinations will be Objective, Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and the exam will start on 30 November for class 10 and for class 12 on 1 December. There are over 2,100 CBSE-affiliated schools in Delhi.
There will be a code for each question paper in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) 10th and 12th Term-1 examination. To open it, the school principal will be given ID and password. Question paper will be for 12 students in one envelope: Class wise ID and password will be generated by the principal after downloading the question paper. The ID and Password will be sent to the Principal only. In the school which does not have a principal, the examination center has not been set up in that school. The principal of the school has been made the center superintendent for the term-1 examination.
Actually a new ID and password will be given for the question paper. The principals will get the ID and password one hour before the day the subject exam will be held. Not only this, to download the question paper, you will have to go through seven steps.
According to the circular issued to the principals on Saturday, the details of the candidate will come on the OMR sheet. The candidate has to write a question paper code in the upper right corner in the space provided for the same. Question paper code will be written on the question paper. Only blue/black ballpoint pen is to be used for filling in the desired information and giving feedback. Use of pencil is strictly prohibited. CBSE said in the circular that if candidates use pencil to fill the OMR sheet, it will be considered as “use of unfair means” and action will be taken against the student(s) accordingly.
The board further said that 4 circles – A, B, C and D – are given in a row next to each question, to provide feedback. Candidates once convinced about the correctness of the answer should darken the (appropriate) circle with a pen. After four circles are finished, a box is given in the same row. Candidates have to write the correct option in that box as A, B, C or D – whichever is the answer.
If the box is empty and the response is marked only in the circle, the board said it will be deemed that “the question was not attempted” by the student. However, if the answer is given in the box and the circle is left blank, it will be deemed that “the question has been attempted”. If the circle, the box and the last circle for the question number are all left blank, it will be considered that “the question has not been attempted”.
Schools are requested to conduct practice sessions for the students, based on the information provided by CBSE. Before the practice session, teachers should also be well acquainted with the OMR sheet,” said Sanyam Bhardwaj, controller of examinations. The duration of the exam will be 90 minutes and will cover only the reasonable syllabus of Term-1. Officials said that the question papers will be sent by CBSE to the schools along with the marking scheme.
