CBSE Board Exam 2025: CBSE 10th 12th exam from tomorrow, know 10 rules including dress code, document list

CBSE 10th 12th Exam 2025: Regular candidates of CBSE board will come in their school uniform. At the same time, private candidates will come to take the exam in light or bright colored clothes.

CBSE 10th, 12th Exam 2025: The 10-12th examinations of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will start tomorrow, February 15. More than 44 lakh candidates from all over the country will appear in the CBSE 10th 12th board examination. The board has issued important guidelines related to the examination for the candidates. The board has said that the candidates will have to bring the school ID card along with the admit card to the examination center. Also, regular candidates will compulsorily come in their school uniform so that their school can be identified. At the same time, private candidates will come to take the exam in light or bright colored clothes.

CBSE has given clear instructions that no student will be allowed to enter the examination center after 10 am. The exam will be held from 1030 am to 130 pm, while the exam of some subjects will be held from 1030 am to 1230 pm. Students will get 15 minutes to read the question paper before the exam starts. The student has to enter the examination center half an hour before in any case. On the first day, there will be an exam of English in 10th and Entrepreneurship in 12th.

1. Dress code – Students studying in regular mode will come to give the exam in their school dress. On the other hand, private candidates will come to give the exam in light colored clothes.

2. What documents to bring along – Along with the CBSE exam admit card, the school ID card will also have to be brought.

3. Things allowed in the exam

  • Admit card and school ID card (for regular students)
  • Admit card and any government photo identity proof (for private students)
  • Stationery items i.e. transparent pouch, geometry/pencil box, blue/royal blue ink/ball point/gel pen, scale, writing pad, eraser, d) analog watch, transparent water bottle
  • Metro card, bus pass, money.

4. What are the banned items in the exam

  • Any stationery items – like study material (printed or written), pieces of paper, calculator (except for students with learning disabilities), pen drives, log table (will be provided by the centers), electronic pen/scanner, etc.
  • Any communication device – like mobile phone, Bluetooth, earphones, microphone, pager, health band, smart watch, camera, etc.
  • Other items like wallet, goggles, handbag, pouch, etc.

5. Check your exam centre a day in advance

The board has asked the students to visit the exam centre mentioned on their admit card a day before the start date of the exam. So that the candidates can know the location and they do not face any problem in finding the centre on the day of the exam.

6. The board has said that after confirming the details including the photo in the admit card, parents and students will have to sign. The CBSE board said that the students must read the guidelines given in the admit card.

7. After entering the exam centre, keeping, using or attempting to use any electronic device (including mobile phone) which can be used as a communication device will be considered as improper act and against the rules.

8. Action will be taken against those who spread rumours on social media The board has said in the instructions issued that strict action will be taken against spreading any kind of rumour related to the exam on social media. Such students will be deprived of the current as well as next year’s exam.

9. The board has said that if any student writes abusive or threatening words or keeps currency in the answer sheet, action will be taken against him.

10. The 10th board exams will be held from February 15 to March 18 and the 12th board exams will also be held from February 15 to April 4. Both exams will be conducted in a single shift starting at 10.30 am. CBSE has also implemented CCTV policy under which all examination rooms/halls will be equipped with CCTV. These are being monitored by the Assistant Superintendent (CCTV monitoring) at each examination centre.
