CBSE is going to change its exam pattern for the board exam to be held in the year 2023. The change in pattern will be applicable for both class 10th and class 12th exams. This information was given by Minister of State for Education Annapurna Devi in ​​the Lok Sabha. The Minister of State for Education while replying in the Lok Sabha said that now competency-based questions will also be asked in the board exams.

The State Education Minister said that under the New Education Policy 2020, competency-based questions will be asked in class 10th and 12th board examinations to improve the exam pattern. In these questions, Objective Type Questions, Response Based Questions, Reasoning Questions and Case Based Questions will be asked.

How will be the new pattern?

In the new pattern, along with traditional questions, there will also be questions based on competence. These are such questions in which apart from the book understanding, the understanding of the students will be tested. In these questions, objective type questions, reaction based questions, reasoning based questions and case based questions will be asked.

Multiple options are given in objective type questions, out of which students have to choose one correct option. In response based question, students have to answer any one question. At the same time, the questions of reasoning are of many types. Along with all this the student will be put in a situation in case based questions. Then they have to answer that how they will solve it.

What will be the ratio of questions?

When asked about the number of competency-based questions in the exam, Minister of State for Education Annapurna Devi told in the Lok Sabha that 30 percent of the questions in the Class 12 board exams will be competency-based. At the same time, 40 percent questions in the 10th class board exam will be competency based. He also said that this pattern will be implemented from the academic session of 2022-23.

The date sheet for the board exams to be held in the year 2023 is yet to be announced by CBSE. But this information is confirmed from the board that the practical examinations of 10th and 12th will start from 1 January 2023 and the board exams will start from 15 February 2023.
